Caring for your Struxa splint: a simple routine

A Struxa splint is easy to keep clean. A little care keeps it fresh and comfortable for the long haul.

One of the quiet perks of an open-lattice splint: there's nowhere for grime to hide, so keeping it clean takes almost no effort. Here's the whole routine.

Washing

Hand wash with mild soap and cool-to-lukewarm water, then let it air dry completely before wearing again. Skip the dishwasher, washing machine, hot water, and direct heat (radiators, hair dryers, or a hot car), which can soften or warp the printed material. No special cleansers are needed.

Everyday habits

A gentle rinse after sweaty or active days keeps it fresh. Because the lattice is open, it dries quickly and airs out on its own between wears. Just set it somewhere with a little airflow.

When to take a break

Listen to your body. If you notice pinching, numbness, tingling, or skin irritation, take the splint off, and follow the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional on wear time and daily routine.

Cared for well, your splint stays light, breathable, and ready for all-day wear.
