Care & safety

Keep your splint in good shape and wear it safely.

Caring for your splint

  • Hand wash with mild soap and cool-to-lukewarm water.
  • Air dry completely before wearing again.
  • Skip the dishwasher, washing machine, hot water, and direct heat, which can affect the printed material.

Wearing it safely

Struxa splints are intended for support and are not intended to diagnose, cure, or replace medical care. Use as directed by a healthcare professional. If you experience pain, numbness, swelling, or skin irritation while wearing a Struxa product, stop use and consult a healthcare professional.

Frequently asked questions

Care, wear, materials, sizing, shipping, and returns: the questions we hear most.

How do I clean my splint?

Hand wash with mild soap and cool-to-lukewarm water, then let it air dry completely before wearing again. Skip the dishwasher, washing machine, hot water, and direct heat (radiators, hair dryers, or a hot car), which can soften or warp the printed material. No special cleansers are needed, and a gentle rinse after sweaty or active days keeps it fresh.

How long can I wear it each day?

Struxa splints are made for comfortable all-day wear, but how long and how often you wear one depends on you and your situation. Follow the guidance of a healthcare professional on wear time and daily routine. Take a break and remove the splint if you notice pinching, numbness, tingling, or skin irritation.

What are Struxa splints made of?

Struxa splints are additively manufactured from a durable, flexible polymer chosen for a balance of strength and light weight. We don't make hypoallergenic or latex-free claims. If you have known skin sensitivities or material allergies, check with a healthcare professional before wearing any splint, and discontinue use if you notice skin irritation.

How do I pick a size?

Each Struxaform™ splint ships in one fit: the Finger Splint is One-Size-Fits-All, a universal ready-to-use fit; the Full-Finger Splint is Trim-to-Size, an oversized version you can trim for a more customized fit. See Fit & Sizing for guidance on choosing between them and trimming.

When would I use a Struxa splint?

People wear finger splints in many everyday situations, for general finger support or support at the base knuckle (MCP joint). Struxa splints are general support products, not a diagnosis or a treatment plan. Always consult a healthcare professional to decide whether a splint is right for your situation, and which type.

When will my order ship?

Orders leave our Colorado facility within 2 business days. U.S. standard shipping is free on orders of $19.99 and up, and $4.99 below that. We ship worldwide, with live international carrier rates shown at checkout; any customs duties or import taxes are the recipient's responsibility. You'll get a tracking link by email as soon as your order ships, and expedited options, rates, and delivery estimates are shown at checkout. Transit time after that depends on the carrier and your address.

Can I use my FSA or HSA to buy a Struxa splint?

Finger splints are generally treated as eligible over-the-counter medical supplies under FSA and HSA plans, and no letter of medical necessity is typically required. Plans differ, so check with your plan administrator before you buy. If your card is declined at checkout, pay with any card and submit the emailed receipt for reimbursement.

What is your return policy?

We want you in the right splint. Because fit and comfort matter, here's how returns and exchanges work:

  • 30-day window. If you're not satisfied, email us at hello@struxasplints.com with your order number within 30 days of delivery to start a return or exchange.
  • Condition. Splints can be returned if they're unworn, unwashed, and in original condition. For hygiene reasons we can't accept splints that have been worn or washed, unless the item is defective.
  • One free exchange. Each splint ships in a single fit, so we do not offer size exchanges. We'll cover a one-time exchange per order for a different colorway or for the other splint: send the unworn splint back and we'll send the replacement.
  • Trim-to-Size & customized items. Trim-to-Size splints that have already been cut or modified can't be returned unless they arrived defective, since they've been customized to you.
  • Damaged, misprinted, or wrong item. If your order arrives defective or isn't what you ordered, email us within 30 days with a photo and we'll make it right with a free replacement or a full refund, usually with no return needed.
  • Refunds. Approved refunds go to your original payment method, typically within 5-10 business days after we receive and inspect the return. Return shipping is your responsibility for change-of-mind returns; we cover it for defects and our errors. Original shipping is non-refundable except on defective or incorrect orders.
