The Founders

Two brothers, one standard.

Struxa was founded by two brothers with very different training and the same idea of what good enough means. One takes care of people when something goes wrong. One builds machines for places people cannot survive.

  • Dr. Quinn Simpson

    Co-founder. Emergency medicine physician. Leads the Struxa Foundation.

    Quinn works in emergency medicine. He spends his shifts with people on one of the worst days they will have, and he has seen a lot of hands after something went wrong. That perspective sets the bar here.

    He is also a national Taekwondo champion. Competing at that level is its own education in what the body can take, and in how much of what you do depends on being able to trust your hands.

    Quinn has led multiple international medical mission trips, and he heads the Struxa Foundation, which brings splints and medical care to underserved, low-resource communities. That work is not a side project. It is the plainest statement of why the company exists.

  • Forrest Simpson

    Co-founder. Engineer. Space and aerospace background.

    Forrest is an engineer. He worked in the space and aerospace industry, on launch vehicles built to help make humans interplanetary, and on Mars rovers.

    That work runs on one rule: the hardware has to survive conditions no one can rescue it from. You design for the worst case, you prove it before it flies, and you carry no gram you cannot justify. The same discipline applies to a structure someone has to wear on a hand.

    Struxa's engineered open lattice comes straight out of that habit. Put material only where load actually travels, and leave the rest open.

Both brothers grew up in Alaska, where good gear is not a preference. It is the difference between life and death. Forrest came out of it believing that the most advanced technology available should be pointed at real, physical problems. Quinn came out of it believing that the point of any of it is helping people. Struxa is what those two beliefs look like when the brothers who hold them build a company together.

How We Build

Built to a standard you can trust.

Struxa was founded by Forrest and Quinn Simpson, an engineer and an emergency medicine physician, who saw a splint category that had barely changed in decades. That pairing of rigorous engineering and real clinical perspective still guides every decision we make.

Everything is designed and manufactured in Colorado inside Atlas Product Group, with design, engineering, prototyping, and production under one roof. That control lets us hold a high bar on the details that determine quality, and keep refining with every iteration.

We approach everyday support as an engineering problem, and solve it with methods usually reserved for far more demanding work.

We manufacture in Lakewood, Colorado, so the standard is set in-house and held there.
