Caring for your Struxa splint: a simple routine

A Struxa splint is easy to keep clean. A little care keeps it fresh and comfortable for the long haul.

One of the quiet perks of an open-lattice splint: there's nowhere for grime to hide, so keeping it clean takes almost no effort. Here's the whole routine.

Washing

Hand wash with mild soap and cool-to-lukewarm water, then let it air dry completely before wearing again. Skip the dishwasher, washing machine, hot water, and direct heat — radiators, hair dryers, or a hot car — which can soften or warp the printed material. No special cleansers are needed.

Everyday habits

A gentle rinse after sweaty or active days keeps it fresh. Because the lattice is open, it dries quickly and airs out on its own between wears — just set it somewhere with a little airflow.

When to take a break

Listen to your body. If you notice pinching, numbness, tingling, or skin irritation, take the splint off — and follow the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional on wear time and daily routine.

Cared for well, your splint stays light, breathable, and ready for all-day wear.
